I've been following 'politics' lately, after I saw the questioning of Betsy Devos by democrats in the senate such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, and I've been inspired to learn more about what's going on in politics, and I feel like it would be nice to write about it.
Betsy Devos is currently our Secretary of Education, which is surprising, since she's been a huge supporter and donor of private charter schools. It's likely that some of her policies will be finding ways to privatize public education, which could potentially lead to less funding of public education, and that could potentially throw off public education, when we need more public funding for k-12 and also have seen the humongous increases and rising of student loan debt.
The questions these senators pose on Betsy DeVos is quite interesting, and the democrats particularly Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, are definitely good at rousing some impassioned responses.
This led me to do a google search on Bernie Sanders, where I learned that his supporters haven't forgotten about him and are actively volunteering to create a third party, with Bernie at the helm. Draft Bernie for the People's Party was created by Nick Brana and currently has hundreds, if not thousands of volunteers across the country who are actively trying to create a new movement from progressive democrats, to steer away toward a more progressive new party.
