So, I'm thinking of starting some sort of online presence, either through youtube, this blog, or podcasting.
There's a few things that I'm thinking about doing. One is I want to use the knowledge that I've gained from studying authenticity, and Teal Swan's teachings, and create my own counseling services-- which for now will be free, in an effort to get people to be more in touch with their authentic desires, and personality. For example, I would like to provide listening and emotional validation to teens or young adults, who, before they decide to take out a student loan for an expensive college or university, to be super clear on what their intentions are, and what they really desire to do. I want to help people who need encouragement, or support, and who feel stuck to be able to take a journey that feels more fulfilling and authentic to who they are.
There's a couple of things that I want to help with: Getting students or prospective college students to be in touch with themselves and to be self-aware enough that they can go on and do what they would really want to do, and listen to their inner voice. I want to get people in touch with listening to what their heart is telling them.
Another thing that I am thinking I want to do, is to start a podcast where I interview people on specific issues or topics that I'm interested in and will hopefully be interesting to the broader community. Issues around health, relationships, authenticity, being a person of color, design and more. I was inspired to do this by watching a few of #GaryVee 's videos, who has incredible insight on creating content, and on motivating people to start doing practical things with their business, through advertising, creating videos, podcasts and more. One of the things that stood out to me, was a vid where #GaryVee talks about being yourself, and finding your niche through talking about what you're interested in. So, I'm super, incredibly excited to start doing this.
I still have a lot to learn, because I don't know much about starting a podcast, or editing videos, and I don't have the equipment for it (such as a mic, and a nice camera), but I'm going to start looking it up. I may even blog about it, and then submit it to youtube, who knows, lol.
Anyway, that's what I have so far. Thanks for your support, if you got this far! Toodles

Teal Swan's The Completion Process
I've been following Teal Swan for about 6 years now, and I have learned so much, about myself, about learning to accept myself, take risks and more. I've also tried learning about others, but I feel it hasn't been as easy to do so because I'm currently living with my parents. It's been a slow process, but I believe I'm ready to start venturing outside of my comfort zone and put myself out there.
Teal has a few healing practices that she talks about, but two of the ones that I've been trying to get better at are learning how to find healing and alignment in parts work, and The Completion Process.
I'm actually going to speak with a Completion Process Practitioner tomorrow, so this may be a good way for me to get an idea of how the process works, especially when you're dealing with another person who understands moreso (from training with Teal) about how to improvise with the raw emotions that come up. Emotions, images, memories and thoughts that you need to talk through in the moment, where you will have to intuit what Teal talks about in her book, and work through creatively.
I recently tried doing parts work, by using one of Teal's articles on it, in order to understand the parts within me that may not be aligned with each other. The parts that I chose to work on were specifially regarding my weight. It was the part that wants to cut down on over-eating, and the part that wants to over-eat to deal with the boredom. It's been a few days, and I have to admit I'm still in the process of coming to terms with my eating habits...I over-ate last night and a few days before, however, tonight may be different...I tried listening to these parts.
The part of me that doesn't want to over-eat is telling me that I need to occupy my mind and energy into something so that I won't feel the need to over-stimulate my brain with food. The part that does want to over-eat is basically telling me the same thing. It needs to over-eat in order to cope with the intense boredom that I am feeling. The neutral-observer self part of me (as Teal recommends using), feels like it is actually pressuring both parts of me (the one that wants to over-eat, and the part that doesn't) to do something, to be productive in some way, and in a way that I haven't exactly figured out yet. I feel that this may have something to do with my purpose.
Okay, so the question is, Did I find alignment with these parts? Well, I'm not completely sure, as I've been struggling with over-eating the past few days. However, as of right now, I'm in the process of writing this, and this could possibly be the thing that my body needs me to be doing in order to find a stimulus other than food. It could just be using my mental energy and inputting it somewhere.
So, that's where I'm at. I'm going to do a few more blogs and talk at length about what other thoughts I have, and what other plans I may try to engage in.
Thanks so much for reading, if you came this far! Toodles!

Hola
Hello!
I'm really excited to start writing again. I've been thinking about it for a while and have been experimenting with different styles, approaches, and tones. ...As of now, I feel like I'm more interested in the conversational blogging style. Something that is not really bound by any structure or is limited. I'm hoping that by doing this, I can start to develop my own personal voice...? Well, whatevz. I just want to get in the habit of expressing my feelings...
I'm not really sure what I'd like to write about. I just have this vague desire to start typing.
One of the things I've been grappling with is how to express the experience of being an api/latina woman of color. I mean, what is the meaning of that identity to me and what is it like to be a mixed woman of color in this society.
I've been really drawn, as of late (which basically means yesterday morning), to students of color and their retention rates in high school and higher education. I'm really drawn to the idea of teaching students of color ways to reimagine their perceptions of themselves, history and society. And being able to help initiate self-reflective moments among students.
I don't know if that means teaching or something else. ..But I have to say I'm not really fond of the idea of teaching mainly because I know I don't really excel at long essays or tests, such as the GRE. I looked over some questions on a GRE sample test, and I couldn't really understand the question so I knew I couldn't really count on doing well.
I also have considered putting some energy into learning about disrupting eurocentric beauty standards, but for some reason that just doesn't resonate with me as much as the idea of working with students of color. I kind of feel that maybe I want to start creating content, such as visual graphics or just short articles like this to start talking about social issues and maybe can be useful for kids or anyone, really.
I'm thinking I might want to minor in Asian American Studies, and can kind of try to use that experience as a way of educating myself so I can write more.
I wish I had more to say, but I don't.
Thanks for reading this far, lol.
Talk to ya soon!

The Democratic Party Needs More Bernie Sanders type of Progressives
I've been following 'politics' lately, after I saw the questioning of Betsy Devos by democrats in the senate such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, and I've been inspired to learn more about what's going on in politics, and I feel like it would be nice to write about it.
Betsy Devos is currently our Secretary of Education, which is surprising, since she's been a huge supporter and donor of private charter schools. It's likely that some of her policies will be finding ways to privatize public education, which could potentially lead to less funding of public education, and that could potentially throw off public education, when we need more public funding for k-12 and also have seen the humongous increases and rising of student loan debt.
The questions these senators pose on Betsy DeVos is quite interesting, and the democrats particularly Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, are definitely good at rousing some impassioned responses.
This led me to do a google search on Bernie Sanders, where I learned that his supporters haven't forgotten about him and are actively volunteering to create a third party, with Bernie at the helm. Draft Bernie for the People's Party was created by Nick Brana and currently has hundreds, if not thousands of volunteers across the country who are actively trying to create a new movement from progressive democrats, to steer away toward a more progressive new party.

Single Payer Healthcare
There's been a lot of discussion recently about healthcare, particularly on the repeal of the Affordable Care Act, which is Obamacare, with the introduction of something new which would change the existing insurance coverage structure. A lot of the debate is divided amongst party lines, which leads the way for an interesting look at party differences in relation to different aspects of the bill.
Because this has been the hot topic for the past couple of days, I'm going to be exploring what Senator Bernie Sanders is recommending, which is a single payer healthcare for all, and what the implications of that might be. I'll be gathering my information from different internet resources and comparing and contrasting what Republicans and Democrats are saying about the bill.
